Microsoft plans Opera mini as default browser in Asha series phones

Nokia Asha 503

Opera has a deal with Microsoft to give the company's mobile web browser for Asha, Series 30+, Series 40 mobile phones. This alliance will work for 10 years and will see Opera Mini made the default web browser on equipment running said platforms. Windows Phone won't be influenced by this alliance.

Current users will be promoted to move up to Opera Mini, abandoning present browser Xpress. While Microsoft's primary focus is – obviously – Windows Phone (and this isn't precisely applicable to our principle scope), it's fascinating to see the company make new alliance for its cost efficient platforms, inherited through its buy of Nokia's devices division. Also choosing an third party result over Internet Explorer.

Opera is additionally accessible for Windows, if you be intrigued by providing for it a go.
